ANTIGONE, Princess of Thebes and ward of King CREON, mid to late 20s. She defies her own city-state for the chance to bury her brother -- now an enemy of state. Her understanding of duties to the dead and of martyrdom form the core of her identity. These beliefs threaten both the city-state of Thebes and the gods.
ISMENE,
Sister of ANTIGONE, late teens to early twenties. While her love for her
sister is strong, her loyalty to her family is tempered by her
political awareness of the law. She chooses life and peace over duties
due the dead and a death sentence.
HISTORIS, Daughter of TIRESIAS & Priestess of Asclepius, middle-aged. She is an expert in the diseases of the dead, and living dead.
MELANIPPUS, Body Guard to CREON, 30s-40s. Brawn and brains, he is fiercely loyal to Thebes and to CREON. Loyal even unto death.
ADRASTOS, King of Argos, 30s - 40s. Wounded during a failed ambush against Thebes, he begs THESEUS to retrieve the Argive dead for burial.
THEBAN SENTRY, early 20s to early 40s. Military man who serves at the pleasure of CREON and at the expense of the princess ANTIGONE.
BERSERK UNDEAD, early 20s to early 40s, the reanimated corpses of the unburied Argive soldiers and Theban rebellion. Rotting and blood-thirsty for vengeance.
