The Fairmont is Not Haunted was presented in November 2013
at the American Society for Theatre Research Conference in Dallas, Texas. The
piece was an hour-long simulated ghost tour of a popular hotel that, in fact, has no reputation for being haunted. The show
incorporated the hotel's history, local lore, and a purely fictional story line. We
employed stage illusions within the hotel to highlight the interactive
performance style of ghost tours and haunt-themed attractions.
The Dora Project was
a devised piece with original music that debuted in April 2014. The show delved
inside the mind and experience of a young woman undergoing electroconvulsive
therapy. During treatment episodes she encounters famous nineteenth century
physicians, their hysteric patients, and her own alter ego. The show explores
madness, trauma, and the reliability of memory through performance art.
